This study looks at genetic (inherited) factors that may make some people more likely to develop rotator cuff tears. You may be able to join if you’ve had a shoulder MRI for pain or you’re a close family member of someone with a documented tear.

Who can take part
- You (or your relative) had a shoulder MRI to check the cause of shoulder pain
- If you’re a first-degree relative (parent, child, or sibling) of someone with a known rotator cuff tear, you may qualify
- If you were treated by the listed surgeons and had rotator cuff repair surgery, you may qualify
- You must not be pregnant
- You should not have had prior shoulder surgery (unless it was performed by the study’s main doctor and the pre-surgery MRI details are available)
