Who can take part

  • You are 18 years old or older
  • If you are healthy: you have no diagnosed lung conditions and haven’t smoked in the last 5 years
  • If you have lung disease: a doctor has diagnosed your lung breathing problem, and it has not worsened in the last 30 days
  • You can safely have an MRI (based on the MRI safety questions)
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and you haven’t had a contagious (viral or bacterial) respiratory illness in the last 30 days
  • You can follow instructions, including holding your breath for 15 seconds
