Who can take part

  • You are either a healthy person with no diagnosed lung condition, or you have a diagnosed lung problem
  • Your lung symptoms have not acutely worsened in the last 30 days (for people with lung disease)
  • You can read and understand English or Spanish
  • You can safely have an MRI (no MRI safety issues on the screening questionnaire)
  • You must not be pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You must be able to fit the special 129Xe MRI breathing setup and hold your breath 15–16 seconds
