Who can take part

  • Be between 1 and 18 years old
  • Be in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) for suspected sepsis or developing sepsis
  • Start study enrollment from the time you arrive at the emergency department (ED), and be enrolled within 24 hours after starting sepsis antibiotics
  • You (or your parent/guardian) must be able to sign informed consent
