Who can take part
- You are 75 or younger when you enroll
- You have confirmed prostate cancer and have not had treatment yet
- Your scan results suggest the cancer is still local (no distant spread, and no clearly large lymph node spread)
- Your cancer has certain high-risk features (Gleason pattern 4 or 5, and T3 stage—sometimes T4 if treatable)
- Your PSA blood test is 100 ng/mL or lower
- You must be able to safely get either prostate surgery or prostate radiation based on your health
