Who can take part

  • You have a problem in the ascending aorta such as a Type A dissection, intramural hematoma, penetrating ulcer, or pseudoaneurysm
  • The problem must be located between the Sinus of Valsalva and where the innominate artery comes off, and your aortic valve is not involved
  • Your ascending aorta must have at least 1 cm of healthy “landing zones” above and below for the stent to seal properly, and the vessel size must be 28–44 mm
  • You are considered very high risk for surgery (ASA class IV)
  • You cannot be pregnant, under age 21, or have an illness that could infect the stent or valve parts
  • You must be able to sign consent and have expected survival of at least 1 year
