Who can take part

  • You have a jaw joint problem called TMJ/TMD diagnosed by standard criteria (RDC) and confirmed with MRI.
  • Your MRI needs to show the disc is displaced to the front (sometimes it can click back “with reduction”).
  • Your teeth must be mostly complete (full dentition), not missing many teeth; wisdom teeth are usually okay.
  • Your TMJ problem cannot be caused only by muscle pain—your disc position must be part of the diagnosis.
  • You should not have had prior TMJ surgery and must be able to complete MRI without issues related to nerve/behavior problems.
