Who can take part
- Be scheduled to deliver by C-section at one of these hospitals: University of Colorado Hospital (Denver) or St. Anthony’s Summit Medical Center (Summit County)
- Have a C-section planned at a set time with no labor beforehand, usually around 39 weeks
- Do not have medical conditions that can affect blood vessels, such as diabetes or gestational diabetes
- Do not have any pregnancy-related high blood pressure disorders
- Do not currently smoke
- Have a single pregnancy (not twins or more) and deliver at term (not preterm)
