Who can take part

  • Be between 7 and 21 years old
  • Have a past infection caused by certain antibiotic-resistant gut bacteria (called ESC-R Enterobacteriaceae)
  • Have a positive stool test showing the resistant bacteria are currently living in the gut
  • Be able to come to study visits for the full schedule, with a parent/guardian who can attend
  • Be able to provide signed consent/assent for the study
  • Have no key safety issues, like immune problems, active bowel inflammation, or inability to use an NG tube
