Who can take part

  • You must be over 18 years old.
  • You need a recent rectal swab test showing carbapenem-resistant bacteria within the last 15 days.
  • You must be able to complete study procedures and sign consent.
  • You should not have ongoing long-term stomach or bowel problems (chronic GI disorders).
  • You should not have had prior surgery on your colon or rectum.
  • You should not be pregnant or breastfeeding, and you should not have major other health problems or psychiatric conditions.
