Study drugs that affect stress nerves and blood pressure in PTSD

This Phase 2 study looks at how stress-related nerve activity and a hormone called angiotensin II may be involved in PTSD, and how specific blood-pressure-related medicines affect the body. You may be eligible if you are a PTSD patient (or a matched control without PTSD) and meet safety criteria.

Who can take part

  • You are age 18 to 65
  • You have PTSD, or you are a control person without PTSD (matched by age, gender, and race)
  • You are not pregnant
  • You do not have certain heart or blood vessel problems or blood pressure conditions (including hypertension)
  • You are not using these medicines: clonidine, beta blockers, ACE inhibitors, or ARBs
  • You do not have uncontrolled health issues like diabetes or chronic kidney disease (GFR under 60)
