Brace study for teens with early scoliosis

Who can take part

  • You’re between 10 and 14 years old
  • Your doctor says you have adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS)
  • Your spine X-ray shows a curve (“Cobb angle”) between 20 and 30 degrees
  • You are still early in growth: Risser grade 2 or less and your periods have started within the past year (or you haven’t started yet)
  • You can read and understand English or Chinese and can follow the brace routine and checkups
  • You have no reasons you can’t have X-rays or do breathing/exercise tests
