Genetic testing to find causes of paclitaxel nerve damage

This study uses genetic tests on blood DNA to look for differences that may explain why some people develop nerve pain (peripheral neuropathy) from paclitaxel used for breast cancer.   • You are in the study group for either European American or African American ancestry
  • You have DNA samples available that the study can use
  • You were treated with paclitaxel for breast cancer
  • You developed peripheral neuropathy during paclitaxel treatment (severity level depends on your ancestry)
  • You did NOT develop peripheral neuropathy after completing the full course of paclitaxel
