Who can take part
- You’re over 18 years old
- You may be eligible if you’re either planned for an LVAD or heart transplant, or you’re having another heart surgery where discarded tissue is removed
- Alternatively, you may qualify if you already have a long-term heart pump (VAD) and no heart surgery is planned when you sign up
- You agree to donate blood and/or heart tissue samples
- You agree your samples will be stored long-term for research
- You (or your legal representative) can sign consent in writing
