Who can take part
- You have biopsy-proven rectal cancer (adenocarcinoma).
- Your scan shows locally advanced rectal cancer (features such as mrT3c, mrEMVI positive, mrN1c, or mrCRM positive).
- Your cancer treatment plan includes preoperative chemoradiotherapy or total neoadjuvant therapy (chemo plus radiation before surgery).
- You do NOT have cancer that has spread to other parts of the body (no metastases).
- You can safely have the MRI and the planned chemo and radiation (no major contraindications).
