Who can take part
- You’re an adult (18–60 years old).
- You have permanent loss of larynx function—often needing a permanent breathing tube—and prior standard treatments have not worked.
- You must be healthy enough for surgery and follow-up care (an anesthetic risk score of less than 3, as judged by the study team).
- You can understand the risks and agree, and you must sign informed consent; the team also checks that your mental health and readiness are stable.
- You must be able to take anti-rejection (immunosuppressing) medicines and meet related safety rules (for example, no current immunosuppressant use unless already at an allowed dose, and cancer history rules must fit).
