Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older
- Your tumor cannot be fully removed with surgery, or it was only partially removed (R2)
- Your cancer type must be one of the listed “radioresistant” cancers (like certain head/neck, sarcomas, osteosarcoma, chondrosarcoma, chordoma, angiosarcoma)
- No pregnancy is possible during treatment, and you can sign consent
- You can travel for treatment quickly (carbon-ion plan must be ready and start within about 2 months), and you can be followed for 5 years
- You must not have had radiation before in the treatment area, no spread to distant organs, and no metal that cannot be removed in the treated area
