Who can take part
- You fit one group: healthy age 18–30, healthy age 65+, or have COPD, pulmonary arterial hypertension, heart failure, or high blood pressure
- If you have COPD, it must be mild to moderate (not severe breathing impairment/oxygen needs)
- If you have pulmonary arterial hypertension, it must be idiopathic or heritable (Group 1 type)
- If you have heart failure, your symptoms must be mild to moderate (NYHA Class I, II, or III)
- You must be able to safely have an MRI scan (no certain pacemakers/metal implants/unsafe heart valves)
- You must not be pregnant and must not have serious exclusions (like past heart attack or major coronary procedures)
