Who can take part

  • You have head and neck squamous cell carcinoma in the mouth, throat (oropharynx), larynx, or hypopharynx (T1–T4 stages).
  • Your cancer team has decided your treatment will be radiation or radiation plus chemotherapy at the same time.
  • Your cancer has not spread to distant parts of the body (no metastases).
  • Your treatment plan does not rely on surgery as the main first treatment.
  • You can safely receive iodine contrast for CT scans (no history of severe iodine reaction and your kidneys are healthy enough).
  • The tumor can be seen clearly on a CT scan.
