Tissue study of parathyroid tumors to understand tumor biology

Parathyroid Gland AdenomaParathyroid Gland Atypical AdenomaParathyroid Gland CarcinomaPrimary Hyperparathyroidism

Part of Cancer, Hormones & metabolism clinical trials.

This study looks at blood and/or tissue samples from people with parathyroid problems to better understand different types of parathyroid tumors. It does not test a new medicine—instead, researchers analyze samples to learn what makes each tumor type different.

  • You have already given consent to use your tissue or blood for research
  • Your sample must include tissue or blood available for analysis (from 1968–2015)

New imaging to find parathyroid tumors before surgery

This study tests two advanced imaging techniques (PET/MR and PET/CT) to find overactive parathyroid glands or tumors that need surgery. Participants get a special scan before surgery to help surgeons locate the problem more accurately.
