This study looks for early, “silent” changes in heart function in adults with type 2 diabetes, even if you feel okay. It uses heart scans and looks for factors that may help explain why these changes happen.

Who can take part
- You can read and understand the study and sign informed consent
- You are between 18 and 75 years old
- You have been diagnosed with stable type 2 diabetes (from GP records or blood sugar tests like HbA1c 6.5% or higher)
- You do NOT have significant heart rhythm problems like atrial fibrillation or flutter
- You do NOT have a serious history of major heart/blood vessel disease, such as heart attack, stroke/TIA, or heart revascularization
- You do NOT have severe valve disease, prior heart failure/cardiomyopathy, or kidney disease stage 3–5 (very low kidney filtering rate)
