Study obesity and metabolism in adults with asthma

Who can take part

  • Be between 18 and 65 years old and be able to give written consent
  • Have smoked fewer than 10 pack-years total and not have smoked in the past year
  • Have a doctor-confirmed asthma diagnosis for more than 6 months (if you’re in the asthma groups)
  • Have the needed “metabolic” or “non-metabolic” or “obese/non-obese” body measurements (like BMI and specific blood/waist/blood pressure results)
  • Not be pregnant, and avoid cannabis/nicotine results that test positive (cotinine/THC)
  • Have no major uncontrolled health problems, no current statin use, and no diabetes medicines
