- You have a severe head injury and doctors recommend emergency skull surgery (craniectomy or craniotomy).
- The surgery wound must not be contaminated (not heavily contaminated with germs or debris).
- Your surgery is not limited only to the posterior fossa (the back, lower part of the skull).
- You do not have a known whole-body infection (systemic infection).
- If you can become pregnant, you are not pregnant.
