Who can take part
- You have an acute traumatic brain injury (TBI) and doctors plan emergency craniotomy with opening of the dura within 72 hours of the injury.
- The injury must not look like a non-survivable situation (for example, both pupils are persistently unresponsive to light).
- You cannot be in a situation where a decompressive craniectomy is planned later for ongoing uncontrolled brain pressure after widespread injury.
- You cannot join another treatment trial for TBI at the same time.
- You must not be pregnant.
