Who can take part
- Be 18 years or older and able to give written consent
- Have a new stroke with symptoms starting within the last 8 hours (or scan evidence of fresh brain ischemia)
- Have a measurable stroke severity at screening (NIHSS score 4 or higher, but not extremely severe)
- Be a candidate for mechanical thrombectomy (a procedure to remove a clot)
- Not be pregnant or think you might be pregnant; agree to a pregnancy test if you can become pregnant
- Plan to attend follow-up, including rehab therapy and remaining available for about 90 days
