Who can take part

  • Be 18 years or older
  • Have a stroke with moderate to severe symptoms (NIHSS between 6 and 20)
  • Have an ischemic stroke where clot-reopening therapy was not done (no IV tPA/thrombolysis and no endovascular clot removal) or symptoms worsen within 48 hours
  • Before this stroke, be independent or nearly independent (mRS 0–1)
  • Be able to sign informed consent
  • Not have major exclusion issues like bleeding risk, very low platelets, major liver/kidney problems, or dangerously high blood pressure
