Immune cell therapy for advanced lung cancer
Part of Cancer, Lungs & breathing clinical trials.
This trial tests a personalized immune cell therapy for advanced or relapsed lung cancer. Doctors take your blood, create special T cells that target unique proteins on your cancer, and give them back to you to try to fight the tumor.
Summary written for real people, not researchers, by Clin2.
Who can take part
- You must have stage III, IV, or relapsed lung cancer that has been confirmed by a biopsy.
- You need to be between 18 and 80 years old.
- It should be at least 4 weeks since your last chemotherapy or radiation, and at least 2 weeks since you stopped taking steroids or other immune-suppressing drugs.
- Your tumor must have high levels of certain cancer-specific proteins (antigens) that can be targeted by the immune cells.
- You should be in generally good health, with acceptable blood counts, liver and kidney function, and oxygen levels above 90%.
- You cannot have other serious health issues like active infections, heart problems, or a history of seizures.

This Phase 1 study tests engineered immune cells (TILs/CAR-TILs) made from your tumor to treat advanced solid cancers that have not responded to standard treatments. It may help your immune system better recognize and attack the cancer, but it is mainly focused on safety and early results.
This trial tests a new approach: taking immune cells from your own tumor (TILs), growing them in the lab, then giving them back to you along with the immunotherapy drug pembrolizumab. It is for people with advanced lung cancer who have run out of standard options.
This Phase 1 study tests a lab-made immune cell treatment made from your own blood cells (T cells) to fight advanced lung cancer or other solid tumors. You may be eligible if your tumor can be biopsied and the lab can successfully prepare T cells that strongly recognize and attack your cancer.
This trial tests an experimental immune cell therapy (CAR-NK cells) that targets two to three specific markers on your lung cancer cells. It may be an option if your cancer has stopped responding to standard treatments and if tests show your tumor carries those markers.
This trial tests a personalized treatment using your own immune cells (called TILs) to fight advanced non-small cell lung cancer that has progressed after standard therapy. You would have surgery to collect a tumor sample, then receive your expanded immune cells back as an infusion.
This trial tests a new immune cell therapy for people with advanced solid tumors of the lung, liver, colon, rectum, or breast. It aims to see if the treatment is safe and can help shrink or control the cancer.
