This trial tests whether oxfendazole can better treat whipworm (Trichuris trichiura) in adults by checking stool samples before and after treatment. You may be eligible if you’ve recently had whipworm found in stool and can return for multiple follow-up samples.

Who can take part

  • You’re an adult (over 18, and under 65) and can stay as an outpatient
  • You can sign an informed consent form (written or witnessed verbal consent)
  • Whipworm must be found in your stool sample taken within the week before starting
  • You must be able to provide stool samples at start, and again at days 7, 14, and 21
  • You haven’t taken a worm medicine (anthelmintic) within the last 2 weeks
  • If you’re able to have a child, you must use reliable birth control during the study
