Who can take part

  • You are 18 years old or older
  • You are currently in an intensive care unit (ICU)
  • You have acute kidney injury (sudden kidney damage, not chronic)
  • Your doctor has prescribed continuous kidney replacement therapy (CRRT) to remove excess fluid from your body
  • Your medical team believes you are stable enough to begin the fluid removal process
  • You have not been on long-term dialysis or kidney replacement therapy before coming to the hospital
