Who can take part
- You must be able to sign the consent form to join
- You must be female (or not male) and have breast cancer treated with partial mastectomy (lumpectomy)
- Your cancer treatment plan must be breast-conserving (not pregnancy; no past radiation to that breast)
- Your surgery must have clear margins (no tumor close to the cut edges: 2 mm for non-invasive or “negative ink” for invasive)
- Your tumor size before surgery must be under 4 cm, and your tumor bed must be at least 3 mm from the skin
