Who can take part
- You have early-stage breast cancer confirmed by biopsy: invasive ductal cancer or DCIS (non-invasive).
- You are over 50 years old.
- Your tumor size is small (under 2 cm if invasive, under 2.5 cm if only DCIS).
- Your cancer is estrogen-receptor positive (ER-positive), meaning it responds to estrogen signals.
- Your surgery plan fits breast conservation: you had a lumpectomy and margins are at least 2 mm, with tumor-free nodes on exam (and on any sentinel node test).
- Your overall health is good enough for treatment (performance status 0–2) and imaging can clearly outline the lumpectomy cavity.
