Compare two radiation timing plans for early lung cancer

Who can take part

  • You have early-stage non-small cell lung cancer confirmed by biopsy/pathology (one of several types).
  • Your cancer stage fits stage I or II patterns like T1N0M0 or T2 (up to 5 cm) N0M0, based on specific scans and measurements.
  • No spread to lymph nodes bigger than 1 cm by CT or abnormal PET—if any nodes look suspicious, biopsies must show no cancer.
  • You can do daily activities fairly well (Zubrod performance status 0 to 2).
  • You must complete staging checkups soon before starting: surgeon review, lung function tests, CT scan, and a PET scan.
  • You cannot have certain situations like central lung tumors, prior chest/mediastinal radiation, or other recent cancers (with limited exceptions).
