Who can take part

  • You must be 18 or older
  • You must have a confirmed non-small cell lung cancer that has not spread to lymph nodes or other organs
  • Your tumor must be in the outer part of the lung and considered treatable by both wedge surgery and radiation
  • You need to be able to walk and care for yourself (ECOG score of 0-2)
  • You must meet at least one high-risk criteria (e.g., poor lung function on breathing tests) or two secondary criteria (e.g., age 80 or older, reduced heart function)
  • You must not have other lung diseases like interstitial lung disease or have had prior radiation to the chest that would limit this treatment
