Who can take part

  • You are at least 16 years old
  • You have a diagnosis of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) based on heart muscle thickness (about 15 mm in adults, or 13 mm in adult relatives)
  • You either do not have a defibrillator, or you have one placed for prevention before a serious event (not after an event)
  • You have heart muscle thickness due to typical HCM, not a specific other cause like amyloidosis
  • You must be covered by social security insurance
  • You should not have a defibrillator placed for secondary prevention (after an aborted sudden cardiac arrest or a sustained dangerous heart rhythm)
