Pain-relief shots for lung surgery: three drug options compared

Who can take part

  • You are scheduled for robotic wedge resection or lobectomy for a lung mass
  • This is not an emergency surgery
  • You must be able to rate your pain using a pain scale (or be able to communicate clearly)
  • Your body weight is 70 kg or higher
  • You have no known allergy to bupivacaine, liposomal bupivacaine, or dexamethasone
  • You are not pregnant and are not currently in prison
