Who can take part
- Be 18 or older
- Have locally advanced breast cancer or cancer that has come back in the same area (metastases may be allowed if stable or limited)
- Need higher-dose palliative radiation aimed to control the tumor in the body area
- Have a tumor that doctors can safely inject into during a procedure and measure on ultrasound or MRI (about 3–15 cm across)
- Not have had prior radiation to the exact target area
- Be well enough physically and mentally to receive high-dose radiation, and be able to follow the MRI scans
- (If you could become pregnant) have a negative pregnancy test and agree to avoid pregnancy during treatment and for 3 months after
