Who can take part

  • You must be an adult (18 or older).
  • The collapse must be witnessed (someone saw or heard it happen).
  • At the scene, you are unconscious and not breathing normally (no, abnormal, or agonal breathing).
  • Someone who witnessed the collapse has prior CPR training.
  • The situation should not be due to choking/strangulation or other obvious lack of oxygen.
  • The collapse should not be from trauma, an obvious drug overdose, or another obvious non-cardiac cause like major injury; you also can’t be pregnant.
