- You are an adult with sudden cardiac arrest outside the hospital (not due to injury/trauma)
- The arrest is in Seattle or the broader King County area
- First EMS responders arrive before advanced paramedics start advanced life support (ALS)
- You do not have a “do not attempt resuscitation” order or an advance directive saying not to try
- No pregnancy is known, and the patient is not in a protected group like a child/prisoner
