Who can take part

  • Be within the study’s age range and timing of puberty (before first period, soon after, or years after).
  • Have a weight and BMI in a “healthy” range (not below the cutoff and below the BMI percentile limit).
  • Have signs of puberty appropriate for your stage (for pre-period: some breast development).
  • For later parts, have blood tests showing normal thyroid hormone, prolactin, and testosterone (and sometimes normal iron levels).
  • Be willing to avoid hormone-affecting medicines/supplements (like birth control pills or biotin) for the next 1–3 years (or 1–2 years for intensive parts).
