Who can take part
- You have cancer that has spread to the liver (metastatic cancer), confirmed by tissue testing or strongly suspected by your doctors.
- You must have 1 to 6 liver tumors that your team believes can be treated with SBRT (a focused, high-dose radiation course).
- You must be able to receive treatment on the ViewRay MRI-guided radiation system, including passing an MRI-safety check (no MRI-incompatible implants/devices).
- You need recent bloodwork showing your organs are working well enough for radiation (especially platelets, white blood cells, kidney function, and liver-related tests).
- You cannot have untreated active brain metastases; if you had brain treatment before, it must be finished far enough in advance and you must be off certain brain-medicine steroids/anti-seizure medicines for the required time.
- If you could become pregnant, you must have a negative pregnancy test and agree to reliable birth control during treatment and for 60 days after.
