HDR radiation boost for prostate cancer during standard treatment

Who can take part

  • You have prostate cancer confirmed by a tissue biopsy (or surgery pathology) and are planning curative radiation treatment
  • Your radiation plan includes external beam radiation plus an HDR brachytherapy boost to the prostate
  • Your general health is good to fair (ECOG 0–1, meaning you can do most daily activities)
  • You have not too many other health problems (Charlson Comorbidity Index 4 or less)
  • Scans show the tumor/area of concern in less than half of the prostate, and it matches your biopsy results
