Stem cell injection study for long-lasting disc back pain

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • Your lower back pain has lasted over 6 months and standard treatments have not helped
  • Your straight-leg-raise test is negative at 70 degrees (a specific physical exam finding)
  • Your MRI shows a small disc herniation (under 6 mm) without clear pressure on nerves/cord, plus specific disc signal changes (black disc sign or HIZ)
  • You can explain the study and sign informed consent, and you can follow study instructions
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding
