Who can take part

  • You’re between 25 and 65 and can sign consent for the study
  • Your MRI and exam show painful degenerative disc disease in up to 3 disc levels (without major disc slippage)
  • Your back and/or leg pain has lasted at least 6 months and hasn’t improved after tried conservative care (like anti-inflammatory medicines or physical therapy)
  • You must have tried injections or related procedures (epidural steroid, facet/medial branch blocks, radiofrequency ablation) and they didn’t help
  • You’re a candidate for a lumbar (lower back) surgery, and you can attend follow-up visits and assessments
  • You do not have major nerve-pathway narrowing (moderate or worse central canal/foraminal stenosis)

Effect of a PRP injection during endoscopic disc surgery on leg pain
