MOCHA study of blood and biopsy features in stomach tumors

Who can take part

  • You are at least 18 years old.
  • You have gastroesophageal (stomach/food pipe) cancer that fits one of two situations: early/localized for surgery, or advanced for palliative treatment.
  • For the advanced group, you must be able to safely get a CT- or ultrasound-guided needle biopsy before starting systemic treatment.
  • Your cancer needs to have at least one other measurable spot (or, in some locally advanced non-metastatic cases, you may be exempt).
  • You should be well enough for procedures and treatment (performance status 0–2) and expected to live more than 90 days.
  • For the advanced group, your first treatment plan must include platinum-based chemotherapy.
