Who can take part

  • You are age 10 or older and having abdominal surgery through a midline cut
  • Your surgery is expected to have an incision at least 5 cm long
  • You (or your legal representative) can provide written consent (signature or fingerprint)
  • You are not having a C-section as part of the surgery
  • You do not have a known or suspected allergy to chlorhexidine
  • You can be reached for follow-up after you leave the hospital
