This trial studies a specialized surgery that reroutes nerves and tendons to help restore hand and grip function after a spinal cord injury. It may help some people regain more useful hand movement if their arm muscle strength and nerve signals are strong enough.

Who can take part
- You are age 15 to 55.
- Your spinal cord injury is in the C5 to C7 level, and you were told it is AIS grade C.
- Your injury happened within the last 12 months.
- The donor nerve (from a muscle called the supinator) and key arm/wrist muscles must have good strength (MRC grade 4 or higher).
- You must not have very weak finger extension (MRC grade 1 or less).
- You should not have significant forearm/hand spasticity (Modified Ashworth score must be 1 or less) and must be medically stable for surgery.
