Who can take part
- Be older than 18 years
- Be planning a first (primary) hip or knee replacement
- Not have a past blood clot, active cancer, or a known tendency to clot easily
- Have a BMI of 40 or less
- You must be able to safely take aspirin/anti-inflammatory medicines (no ulcer or other known contraindication)
- Not require blood thinners already for another medical condition
