Who can take part

  • You are between 60 and 80 years old.
  • You are scheduled to have a knee replacement surgery (one knee) under general anesthesia.
  • You have no history of serious bleeding or blood-clotting disorders.
  • You have not had cancer or a major blood clot (like a stroke or DVT) in the last 2 years (or 6 months for clots).
  • You are willing to stop taking any blood thinners as required by the study.
