Who can take part

  • You’re at least 18 years old
  • You’re having surgery on your pelvis or lower body (or had surgery already)
  • Your surgery is for specific cancers or cancer-related bone/soft-tissue problems (metastatic bone disease, bone sarcoma, or a large soft-tissue sarcoma)
  • You received or plan to take a blood thinner around the time of surgery
  • You must be able to choose and receive chemical blood-thinner treatment (informed consent and not unable to take it)
  • You should not have certain conditions that raise clotting risk or block these treatments (listed in the exclusions)
