Who can take part

  • Be 18 years or older and able to understand and sign the consent form
  • You must be having an upper endoscopy (EGD) where doctors are checking for Barrett’s esophagus (or you already have it)
  • Your endoscopy must include BOTH WATS3D sampling and standard forceps biopsies
  • You cannot be pregnant at the time of the endoscopy
  • You should be able to follow study steps for 5 years (and not have substance dependence that interferes)
  • You should not have any other health problem that makes it unlikely you can complete the full 5-year study
